1. Flamingo Tour at Dawn (Top Recommendation)
Seeing wild American flamingos in their natural habitat is the experience most visitors rank as the highlight of their time in Sisal. Our boat tours to the coastal lagoons depart at dawn, when the light is golden and the flamingos are most active. Colonies can number in the hundreds during peak season (October-March). This is not a zoo — these are wild birds in their natural environment, and the difference is everything.
2-5: Kayak, Kitesurf, Fish and Birds
Kayaking through the pristine mangrove channels (2 hours, expert guides, all levels welcome); kitesurfing on the Gulf with consistent Norte season winds (November-March, lessons available); sport fishing with local fishermen for snook, snapper and tarpon; and guided birdwatching at dawn in the mangroves and lagoons where 200+ species have been recorded. Each of these alone is worth a trip to Sisal.
